BMW has launched the new generation 7 Series in India at the ongoing Auto Expo in Delhi. The most luxurious model in the BMW range is available across five variants, couple of these are assembled in India at their facility in Chennai. Here is a better look at the car through a detailed photo gallery.
This is the new generation version of the BMW 7 Series. It carries significant updates over the outgoing model, mainly in styling and comforts.
If the previous model looked aggressive, this one is even more so with the headlamps and front grille connected to appear like one large unit.
The 7 Series in itself is a large car and the one that is launched in India with the long-wheelbase is even larger with a length of over 5.2 metres.
This is the first car in the segment to offer laser headlamps. These offer illumination of close 600 metres and come with the typical BMW DRLs.
In a car like the 7 Series, it is the interior that really matters. The cabin uses premium brown leather upholstery and real wooden inserts.
The features list includes Bower & Wilkins speakers of the music system, parking assist, seat massagers, and dedicated infotainment system for the rear with wi-fi connectivity and many more.
The 7 Series is available with two engines in India – the 3.0-litre diesel V6 producing 262bhp and 620Nm or the bigger 4.4-litre V8 petrol developing 450bhp and 650Nm.
The 7 Series is available in two CKD diesel variants while one CKD and two petrol variants can be ordered as CBU with options to customise the equipment list.
