- India gets the LWB version for the first time
BMW has officially commenced the bookings of the new-gen 5 Series in India ahead of its launch scheduled to take place on 24 July. This is the first time that the 5 Series will be offered in the LWB guise in the Indian market.
The eighth generation 5 Series can currently be booked in a single variant called 530Li M Sport LWB. Further, customers can choose from two exterior paint options, including M Carbon Black Metallic and Sparkling Copper Grey Metallic. There are 18-inch mono-tone and 19-inch dual-tone wheels to choose from. Additionally, BMW has provided it with Titanium Bronze and Aluminium Satinated options.
Design highlights of the 2024 BMW 5 Series LWB include a larger iteration of the signature kidney grille, curved LED DRLs integrated into the LED headlamps, black inserts on both sides of the bumper, ‘M’ badging on the front fender, flush-fitting door handles, ‘5’ badging on the C-pillar, and sleeker wraparound LED taillights.
Inside, this Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB rival will come equipped with a curved dual-screen layout on the dashboard housing the 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, reclining rear seats, Level 2 ADAS suite, USB Type-C charging ports, and electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats.
Under the hood, we expect the new 5 Series to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre, four-pot, diesel mill could arrive shortly after. Also up for offer could be a mild-hybrid system.
