The Audi TT is not exactly a driver’s car although the Mark 3 generation has shown a lot of promise, with its vastly improved on-road dynamics and potent petrol and diesel engines. Audi, though, knows there is still quite a bit of potential left to be explored in the latest generation model.
The German car maker is preparing a hot version of the TT called the TT RS and going by recent reports, the car will be quite a handful. According to Motoring, the TT RS will use a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces more than 400bhp of power. Combine that with a small coupe body shell and the performance can be expected to be impressive.
The TT RS is said to accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in under four seconds before hitting its top speed of 280 kmph. Sadly, this new model won’t come out anytime this year as Audi is expected to launch it in 2016.
