The new Audi A6 is slated for its India launch on 24 October 2019. The eighth-generation model will be introduced with sharper exterior styling elements and a host of new features. Interestingly, the 2019 Audi A6 will be limited to a petrol engine option and will also be lighter than its predecessor. Moreover, it is believed that the upcoming model will be the first Audi in the country to feature a twin touchscreen dashboard.
Engine
Under the hood, the new Audi A6 will get a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine that generates 240bhp of power and 370Nm of peak torque. The engine will come mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that drives the front wheels. The German car manufacturer might also introduce a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine variant at a later date.
Exterior
The new eighth-generation Audi A6 looks sharper and more mature than its predecessor. The car gets a large grille with chrome horizontal slats. Moreover, the sleek and angular LED headlamps and sharp creases on the bonnet render it an aggressive stance. The new A6 gets dual-tone alloy wheels for freshness while the window line looks similar to the existing car. The rear section looks fresh with new LED tail lamps that are connected by a chrome strip.
Interior
The first thing to notice will be the twin touch screen for the infotainment and climate control duties. The vehicle also features the virtual cockpit system, while the dashboard is draped in leather with piano black trims along with aluminium and wood inserts for a premium feel. Moreover, the car gets a new futuristic steering wheel along with the new MMi infotainment system and more. The new A6 gets a premium leather upholstery along with all the modern convenience features. In terms of safety, the new A6 will offer eight airbags, front and rear parking, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, electric parking with auto hold, traction control and more.
