Audi has revealed information regarding its new A4 mid-size saloon range ahead of the official launch in Japan that’s slated for the 19th of February. Prices will start at 5180000 Yen (Rs 30.89 lakh).
The new A4 is based on the MLB Evo platform that has achieved a remarkable weight reduction of up to 120kg. Sources have added that both the Standard and Sports variants of the lineup will come with FWD and Quattro each.
While the 2.0-litre TFSI four-cylinder engine makes a maximum output of 190bhp and 319Nm of torque in the FWD versions, the Quattro sees the same engine produce 252bhp and 369Nm of torque. 0-100kmph is accomplished by the Quattro version in 5.8sec. Transmission duties on all models will be carried out by the seven-speed S-tronic box.
Audi claims the fuel consumption for this engine is on par with a 1.4-litre engine thanks to a new advanced combustion system that offers a 33 per cent improvement over the conventional type. They added that the FWD version would return 18.4kmpl and the Quattro 15.5kmpl .
Audi India will get in their all new A4 later this year with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol unit and the 2.0-litre diesel motor along with their acclaimed seven-speed dual-clutch auto box as standard.
