Audi has launched the new A4 today with three engine options: the 1.8TFSI for Rs 27.33 lakh, the 2.0TDI for Rs 29.38 lakh and the 3.0TDI Quattro for Rs 38 lakh. The S Line will also be available to consumers, with sharper styling cues, but the S4 itself has not been launched. However, Audi seems open to launching that here as well, given enough demand.
The A4 competes with the Mercedes C Class and BMW 3 Series and it is one of Audi's highest - selling products. It has sold over ten million units since its inception. Audi claims that the outgoing A4 has garnered 42% of its segment in the first quarter of 2012 and it seems possible that the new A4 will retain that lead in the current situation. We'll reserve final judgement on that until the new 3 series launch, which isn't too far away. In the meanwhile, the A4 bookings open tomorrow, with the promise of surprise gifts for the first customers.
