Tesla cars have a new competitor in the form of the new Le Super Car. LeEco, a popular name in the internet and technology industry in China has introduced its first super electric car ahead of its official unveiling at the Beijing Auto Expo.
To showcase its potential in the automotive sector, LeEco has set up its subsidiary LeAuto which will cover production, EV charging strategy, research and development, car sharing and after-sales service areas. The Le Super car was unveiled by LeEco founder Jia Yueting and Le Supercar co-founder Ding Lei.
The Le Super car works on the idea of ‘inter-connection’ and offers a fully-automatic driving function. Much like the Tesla cars, the Le Super Car gets a battery pack inside the floor space which offers low centre of gravity and helps with better driving dynamics. The electric car is capable of attaining a top speed of 130mph. To make things further interesting, the car comes loaded with features like emotion recognition, facial recognition, path recognition and system recognition.
Speaking of interiors, the Le Super Car features internet enabled touchscreens for the rear passengers and one for the front on the dashboard, and shape-shifting seats. The regular outside rear-view mirror is replaced by cameras and the steering wheel is capable of self-folding in the autonomous mode. Adding to its style quotient, the car gets a one-piece panoramic roof which flows from the front windscreen to the rear window.
LeEco had announced its partnership with Aston Martin back in February this year with a motive of helping the latter build the electric RapidE by 2018.
