The outcome of the FIA Formula E Championship was decided recently at the final round in London. While Sam Bird, driving for Virgin Racing, won the last ePrix of the season, it was Nelson Piquet who topped the championship table and was crowned the first ever Formula E Champion.
At the end of the London double-header, the team led by Alain Prost and Jean-Paul Driot saw its drivers Sebastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost finish in second and sixth position respectively. All the drivers and teams will now be stepping up their preparations in order to be ready for the start of the second season, which kicks off this later this year in Beijing.
With Nextev TCR lead guy Nelson Piquet sealing the drivers’ championship, Sebastien Buemi (e.dams-Renault) and Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport) finished as runner-ups. All the drivers and teams now turn their attention to testing wherein they will be able to put their cars and their powertrain systems through their paces.
