Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new after-sales package dubbed My Mercedes-My Service for the Indian market. This new package is targeting the ownership experience and is offering a host of options that will benefit the same. These new initiatives include Digital Service Drive, Premier Express and the service packages themselves.
Firstly, the digital service drive will allow customers to directly interact with the service technician and discuss any issues with the car for the same. At present it is being offered through Skype or Facebook video chat. This also includes booking service by SMS as well as online booking for the same.
The Premier Express as its name suggests is an initiative where the company has said that it will service a car in under two hours. This is so that vehicles can be returned to the owners as quickly as possible. This service is currently available across all major metro cities but does not include the speciality AMG models.
In terms of service packages, Mercedes-Benz has introduced the Star Ease Compact Plus package and the New Service Package. The latter is for existing buyers and can be bought in a variety of kilometre-age packages in the range of 3 years-30,000km to 5 years unlimited mileage. The company will later introduce a 10 years 200,000kms package for new car buyers.
Given the growth of the luxury car segment in India, this seems to be a prudent step in the right direction with regard to improving the ownership experience. The price of the packages starts at Rs 49,000 but will vary depending on the model as well as the individual services selected by the buyers.
