Morgan has unveiled the new Aero 8 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The new Aero 8 will act as a replacement for the Aero Coupe and Aero Supersports and is the British sportcar manufacturer’s most advanced car, as yet.
While it might seem pretty similar to its predecessor, the new Aero 8 has been thoroughly revised to improve its functionality. The new Aero 8 retains the essence of the iconic Aero series, while offering modern conveniences. Along with an optional hard top, the new Aero 8 also comes with a fabric roof, which can now be tucked away from sight, behind the seats. The interior has been modernised with toggle switches, an infotainment system and redesigned centre console. Better aerodynamics ensures a bump in performance as well as a decrease in the car’s fuel consumption.
The new Aero 8 has been built on a completely revised chassis. The chassis has been strengthened in pursuit of stiffness and lightened to improve performance. It is powered by a 4.8-litre V8 engine, which delivers 362bhp through either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. The new Aero 8 tips the scales at just over 1,000 kilograms.
With prices starting at GBP 80,000 (Rs 76.13 lakh), Morgan expects to sell 300 to 350 units of the new Aero 8 over the next two years.
