Honda has not confirmed the launch date of the Jazz yet, but has started production of the much-awaited premium hatchback for the Indian market. New spy-shots have emerged from what is said to be the carmaker's stockyard in Rajasthan.
The Japanese carmaker has its new manufacturing facility in Rajasthan where the Jazz was earlier snapped. The company is said to have already produced more than 600 cars from this plant and is readying a stock of about 5,000 cars before they officially launch the vehicle. The Jazz might go on sale in a couple of months in our country.
This will be the next-generation version of the Jazz hatchback for India, totally different from the previous one that failed to create a buzz and was eventually discontinued in our country. The latest iteration looks more promising than the older version and is expected to create a huge excitement when launched.
Unlike the old Jazz which was available only in the petrol version then, this time, the Jazz will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol mill will be employed for the petrol version and the 1.5-litre Earth Dreams diesel motor will do the duty for the oil-burner. The transmission options include the five-speed manual and five-speed automatic gearbox.
Though the Jazz is expected to be priced higher than the current hatchbacks sold in India, it will still be aimed at snatching a big share of sales from the premium B-segment of cars in India. This premium hatchback that looks sporty and comes packed with features will be slotted between the Brio and the City, sharing space with the Amaze.
