Mercedes will unveil the new Maybach at the Los Angeles Auto Show and just ahead of its launch a source reveals more details on the luxury limousine. The S-Class Maybach will feature styling similar to the S-Class, but will be 10 inches longer than the LWB model.
The additional length of the Maybach will help in liberating more legroom for the passengers at the rear. It is likely to get exclusive technology like reclining rear seats and enhanced infotainment features for rear seat passengers.A wide range of trim and upholstery options will also be offered to buyers.
It might be powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-litre V12 engine churning out 522bhp and 830Nm of torque. There are chances that a more powerful model using the S65 AMG’s version of the same engine producing 620bhp and 1,000Nm of torque might be offered.
Details are scarce, but the entry-level model might cost approximately $200,000 (Rs 1.22 crore) and there might also be an armoured version that could offer VR9-level ballistic protection.
There is a possibility that Mercedes might reintroduce the Maybach brand in India which was launched in 2004. If they do bring it here, it would be launched as a CBU.
