Nope, this headline is not a joke. It’s a big V12 powered monster that closely resembles the legendary Ferrari Enzo and has been fitted with a dual fuel engine. Aptly christened the Rascasse (after one of the most famous turns in the history of Formula 1) the car has a monocoque chassis and has been designed by Monaco based Montercarlo Auto in collaboration with Italian LPG specialists BRC.
The car is powered by a BMW sourced V12 that produces 505PS and originally powered the Rolls Royce Silver Graph that was on sale during the late 1990’s. Keeping with times, the Monaco based automaker has tuned the Rascasse to run either on petrol or LPG and that should make it one of the most fuel efficient supercars to be launched.
While the exterior resembles a Ferrari Enzo, it’s a world of change inside. The entire two man cabin has been trimmed out in wood and resembles a small yacht. There is not much information about the feature list, driver aids or underpinnings or the difference in power when running on LPG.
However we do know that the entire gauge cluster is digital and that you get a clock in the middle of the steering wheel. The interiors look pretty minimal, but we are guessing that lots of the button and knobs are all hidden away to give the car a clean look and will pop up from places when you turn the vehicle on.
If the LPG compatible engine is not enough to shock you, then the price should do the job-550, 000 Euros (Rs 3.89 Crore). While that not seem like much for a 505PS supercar, it should be noted that the car is hand built and comes from a place smaller than North Delhi. To maintain exclusivity only 15 will be made so don’t expect to find one in India pulling into a petrol station and waiting to tank up behind a row of autos. The company plans to build more cars in the future with a higher engine output and hybrid technology.
