The B-segment crossover segment is burgeoning in Europe at a rather high pace. Looking to cash in on the growing demand for this relatively new breed of vehicles, Mitsubishi is busy developing a new model. The Japanese brand is looking to take on the Nissan Juke which is one of the top selling B-segment crossovers in Europe.
According to Mitsubishi, their forthcoming crossover model would incorporate design that is “bold without being wacky”. Last year, the brand poached ex-Nissan designer Tsunehiro Kunimoto who’s past creations include the Juke. Mr Kunimoto is expected to run a new design studio in Frankfurt, Germany and revamp the overall design language of Mitsubishi’s future models.
As a result, Mitsubishi’s new breed of cars is expected to boast of the ‘Dynamic Shield’ design language seen in recent concept models including the XR-PHEV.
