Mitsubishi has released the first official image of their new Attrage global sedan. Based on the Mirage subcompact car, the Attrage will go sale in Thailand this July. The new car falls under Thai Eco Car Project – where in car maker gets subsidies for vehicles with efficiency over 20kmpl.
The Attrage will be powered by a 1.2-litre MIVEC engine that produces 76bhp of power and 100Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to five-speed manual gearbox and will also have a CVT option. This is the same setup that powers the new Mirage hatchback. On the new sedan Mitsubishi claims fuel efficiency on 22kmpl
Once it goes on sale in Thailand, it will compete with the Nissan Almera that has strikingly similar looks. The Almera is a midsize sedan and in combination with the Mirage might just get numbers rolling for Mitsubishi India. However, the Japanese car maker had recently confirmed that they are concentrating only on UV market in India and have no plans to introduce hatchback and sedans any time soon.
