The latest iteration of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport was recently, fully revealed through spyshots before its official premiere next month. Now, a teaser has been released without divulging many details of the car.
The new teaser of the 2016 Pajero Sport reveals some details of the car. The new Pajero Sport is in its third generation, and the new avatar breaks away from the traditional look of the conventional Pajero Sport.
The revised Pajero’s fascia is inspired by the ‘Dynamic Shield’ design and looks similar to the facelifted 2016 Outlander. The new car is based on the same platform as the L200/Triton pick-up and gets a sharper look. The chrome grille extends up to the swept-back headlamps that feature daytime running LEDs. The side profile of the car still looks like the present model, but the rear profile gets new tail lamp clusters that are vertically mounted.
The interior is expected to be more up-market and will carry over the features from the current model. This means the eight-way adjustable driver's seat, steering-mounted controls and super select 4WD system will continue to be seen with the new Pajero Sport.
The current Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.5-litre DI-D diesel mill that churns out 178bhp of power. This powerplant might be replaced by a new 2.4-litre four-cylinder MIVEC diesel unit, which will deliver 181bhp of power and 430Nm of torque.
Mitsubishi will officially unveil the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport August 1, 2015, marking its world premiere in Thailand. We hope Hindustan Motors brings this latest iteration of the SUV to India soon. The Pajero Sport will then put up a tough fight against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the upcoming Chevrolet Trailblazer.
