Mitsubishi in Malaysia has unveiled the new Outlander before its official launch in April this year. This vehicle will be imported as a CBU from Japan and will cost RM 167000 (Rs 27.31 lakh).
The most striking part about the Outlander is the front end which integrates a grille dominated by thick chrome accents that adds up to a bold and distinctive facia. As the exterior dimensions are considerably higher than rivals like the Honda CR-V and the Nissan X-Trail, the car is expected to offer class-leading interior space.
Power for the Outlander will come from the 2.4-litre four cylinder MIVEC engine that makes 167bhp and 222Nm. It gets a CVT automatic gearbox with a sports mode and paddle shifters. Some of the features listed on the car include auto LED head lamps with daytime running lights, 18 inch dual colour alloys, sunroof, electric tailgate and keyless entry with push button start. There’s also auto wipers, a touch screen infotainment system and heated front leather seats. Safety of the occupants is taken care of by the seven airbags, active stability control (ASC), ABS, EBD and brake assist.
