The Outlander may have struggled a lot in the Indian market, but outside India, the crossover has been selling in good numbers despite stiff competition from rival brands including Hyundai, Kia and Nissan. Two years after introducing it in the UK, Mitsubishi is now preparing a facelifted version ahead of the vehicle’s possible debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
As seen in the spy shots, the facelifted Outlander will feature a completely revised front end with a new bumper, grille and headlamp design. Meanwhile, at the back, the vehicle will benefit from new bumper design and redesigned tail lights.
Mechanically, the facelifted model will be available with the existing set of engines – a diesel and a petrol-electric hybrid model. Mitsubishi, however, could make a few suspension tweaks to improve the ride quality of this new model.
The facelifted Outlander is expected to make its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show early next year. The vehicle will go on sale in Europe soon after. As for the India launch, there is no concrete news whether the vehicle is bound to be introduced here. As a matter of fact, Mitsubishi India currently only has a one model portfolio consisting of the Pajero Sport.
