Mitsubishi Motors today has announced a price hike for the Pajero Sport SUV. The premium SUV now costs Rs 24.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the automatic and Rs 25.28 lakh for the manual transmission variant.
The price hike is in lines with the excise duty hike on the SUVs from 24 per cent to 30 per cent starting from January 1. As a result the Pajero Sport now costs Rs 1.43 – 1.48 lakh more for the MT and AT variants respectively.
The SUV is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 175bhp and 400Nm (MT) and 350Nm (AT) of torque. The SUV is available with a 4WD in a manual only guise, the AT is a rear-wheel drive only. The Pajero Sport gets creature comforts like a two-din audio system, a new infotainment system loaded with navigation, reverse parking camera and automatic climate control.
Mitsubishi Motors updated the Pajero Sport last year and the prices were revised at the same time. The car gets a chrome front grille, new infotainment system and two new dual-tone paint schemes – flame red/white and lemon yellow/white. It competes with the Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva and the Ford Endeavour in the SUV segment.
