Mitsubishi has started accepting bookings for the Lancer Evolution Final Edition. This special edition represents the last hurrah for the iconic ‘family’ sedan, as Mitsubishi announced previously that they won’t be introducing a successor to the Lancer Evolution X.
The Lancer Evolution Final Edition will come with a ‘Final Edition’ badge, a plaque indicating the car’s serial number, 18-inch BBS wheels, high-performance brakes, black leather trim for the interior and Recaro sports seats among other upgrades. Like its predecessors, the Lancer Evolution Final Edition continues with a four-pot 2.0-litre turbocharged engine which sends power to all four wheels through either a five-speed manual or a six-speed dual clutch Sportronic gearbox. Though this 4B11T engine in its standard guise produces a staggering 291bhp and 406Nm of torque, we can safely see Mitsubishi bump up these numbers as a final gesture.
The Lancer Evolution Final Edition marks the end of a grand lineage of sports saloons. Currently in its tenth iteration, the ‘Evo’ cars have been one of the best all round saloons, offering us the best of both worlds. The Lancer Evolution Final Edition will be produced in a limited run of just 1,000 units, and has been priced at Yen 42.98 lakh (Rs 22.4 lakh) in the Japanese market.
