Mitsubishi has just issued a recall for the Cedia in India and has revealed that there is a problem with the airbag.
The carmaker has added that they have identified close to 2,400 Cedias that could be affected. These vehicles were produced between 2006 and 2008 and Mitsubishi will be working on the affected cars to get the passenger side airbag to be refitted. This is a part of Mitsubishi’s global campaign relating to airbag inflators.
Mitsubishi dealerships will undertake the repairs across India in a phased manner from January 25th onwards. Customers are being requested to approach the nearest authorised dealership to understand the applicability of this campaign or email customer support at customersupport@hmfcl.com mentioning the chassis number of the vehicle. The replacement will be carried out for free.
Other Mitsubishi vehicles in India have not been affected by this recall and Mitsubishi Motors is among the several affected carmakers due to the ongoing Takata airbag concerns.
