Mitsubishi India has stopped sales of Cedia Sport and Outlander in India and has announced this through a message on the official pages of both vehicles. The Cedia has been available in the Indian market from 2007. The news follows Mitsubishi’s announcement of pulling the plug on their legendary Lancer Evolution X.
The Cedia was initially launched in Japan more than a decade ago as the Lancer Cedia. In India the Cedia was initially available in two trims: Select and Sport. Mitsubishi India had stopped the production of the Cedia range in November as has been selling the existing units since in a bid to clear stock. It had previously discontinued the Lancer sedan and Pajero SUV due to poor demand and rather obviously the age of both vehicles in comparison to their competition.
With the Cedia Sport and the Outlander out of the market, Mitsubishi now has an all SUV stable with the Pajero and the Montero, the former being assembled at the Thiruvallur factory in Tamil Nadu.
