We already know that the Mini Clubman is making its India debut on December 15. So when we set out to find further details of the Clubman, we found out it is the Cooper S. Of course there will be the run-of-the-mill diesels coming in but we are not sure if they would make it for the launch event.
The Clubman is ideally an estate or what we also call a station-wagon. And it is a big car for a Mini. It is as wide as the Countryman SUV which means even three would be comfortable on the rear seat. Being a wagon it is long and has a good amount of cabin space for both the rows of seating. The barn-doors on the tailgate open a large boot-space enough to swallow plenty of luggage.
Being a Cooper S, the Clubman will get the 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine. It belts out 189bhp of power and 280Nm of torque and comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that drives the front wheels. It gets an electronic stability program, traction control along with hill hold control for driver aids. For safety you get front as well as side airbags. The 2.0-litre diesel mill, which is expected soon, develops 112bhp of power and 270Nm of torque and is also found in the Mini Countryman.
