Mini Cooper S Covertible is finally launched in India for Rs 34.9 lakh (Ex-showroom, India). Impressive style, performance and features is what defines this only premium convertible hatch in India.
To begin with, the Mini Convertible S comes with a soft folding top that fits neatly over the boot area in just about 18 seconds. The vehicle gets a new platform and thereby offers more space than the current model. The front fascia is adorned with circular headlamps which get LED Daytime Running Lights, low sleek airdams and a vent on the hood. The Convertible sports new alloys that enhances its overall esthetics.
The Mini Cooper Convertible S is powered by a 2.0 litre, twin turbocharged petrol engine that generates 189bhp of power and 280Nm of torque. The powerful engine is mated to a 6-speed torque converter gearbox that enables the vehicle to achieve a top speed of 233 kmph while doing 0-100 dash in just about 7.1 seconds. To further enhance the driving experience, it offers three drive modes – Green, Mid and Sport.
Owing to its new platform, the Mini Cooper S gets a larger boot space measuring 215-litres, while the knee room space for rear occupants has been increased by 36mm. The unique circular headlamp design has also found its way to the round-designed Harman Kardon infotainment system that also supports the navigation system. Additionally, the Mini Cooper gets ambient lighting system, leather upholstery and a detailed instrument cluster. The seats are pretty comfortable with extra padding and good support.
In terms of safety, the new Mini Cooper S Convertible comes with features like front two airbags, roll over protection and ESP traction control.
