Mini has announced that the Cooper Countryman and the Paceman will get their All4 all-wheel drive system from next month onwards. The All4 technology has been developed by the BMW owned British marquee on the back of multiple Dakar rally titles. The inclusion of the technology for these two models now increases the all-wheel drive models in the Mini range to ten vehicles.
The Mini Cooper Countryman and Paceman are powered by a 1.6-litre mill producing 122PS and 160Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or a six speed automatic across both models.
Both vehicles will go on sale in Europe from July onwards. It is unlikely that we in India will get the All4 spec Mini’s anytime soon due to the high cost of importing the vehicle and the fact that the options have only been offered on the petrol engined variants.
