BMW India has launched two new Mini models and the eighth-generation BMW 5 Series today. The new-gen Cooper S and the Countryman Electric are priced at Rs. 44.9 lakh and Rs. 54.9 lakh, respectively with deliveries starting this September.
Mini Cooper S launch details
The new Cooper S gets cosmetic changes, new features, and is offered in Classic and Favoured packs. Some highlights include a digital OLED touchscreen, Mini 9 OS, Mini intelligent personal assistant, digital key plus, and fish eye camera. This India-spec model is also the latest iteration that premiered globally in September last year. The car is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 201bhp and 300Nm of torque. There's no word on the pure electric version of the Cooper that's available globally in 'Cooper E' and 'Cooper SE' variants.
Countryman Electric in Classic and Favoured pack
Amongst these refreshed Mini models, the Countryman Electric is making its way to India for the first time. It shares its underpinnings with the BMW iX1 and is powered by a 66.45kWh battery. It can be charged from 10-80 per cent in 29 minutes through DC charging and has a WLTP-certified range of 462km. It also produces 201bhp and 250Nm of torque enabling it to sprint from 0-100kmph in 8.6 seconds.
