Michael Perschke has been appointed as Head of Audi India effective July 1st, 2010. German citizen, 42 years old, married, Michael Perschke has an international education in business administration and economics in Germany and London.
His extensive work experience with various brands in Europe and Asia includes 3 years in India from 1997 to 2000 as General Manager for Mercedes-Benz, also responsible at that time for network development and regional sales subcontinent. Michael joined the Volkswagen Group in 2004 with the responsibility of steering National Sales Companies and developing wholesale strategy. He began in Audi AG from 2008 where he is till date in charge of European Service Network Project with the target to improve service network quality and develop European network quality standards.
He will take over from Benoit Tiers who started the all India operations for Audi in the country early 2007. Under his governance, Audi successfully established its retail and service organizations, a full dealer network and started the local assembly of the Audi A4 and Audi A6. Benoit Tiers is being promoted to Head of Audi in France, one of the biggest markets for the brand in Europe, with sales over 50,000 units per year for Audi.
Audi India is structured into five main departments: Marketing (Head: Clemens Ollmert), Sales (Head: Anil Reddi), After Sales (Head: Gerhard Pretorius), Dealer Development (Head: Rishi Goel) and Press Communication (Head: Metabelle Lobo) directly reporting to Michael Perschke.
