- Is the third EV from MG for India
- Bookings to commence from 3 October, 2024
The MG Windsor has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 9. 99 lakh (ex-showroom) but this comes with a catch of sorts. This price excludes battery rental of Rs 3.5 per km. Even if you do around 50,000km a year, it works to less than two lakh additional costs over the showroom price. It is available in three trim levels across four colour options and one powertrain configuration. This is MG’s third EV for India and it finds a place between the Comet and ZS EV.
Exterior highlights
On the outside, the Windsor gets design elements like the signature cowl and headlamps, while on the side, the car gets 18-inch chrome alloy wheels, a floating roofline, and pop-out door handles. Move over to the back, and you can see the connected taillamps and chrome garnish below the glasshouse.
Cabin highlights
Inside, MG has kitted out the cabin in a combination of beige over black with the seats getting a quilted pattern. The highlight of the front is a massive 15.6-inch display for the infotainment system running the same OS as what you get on the Comet. Move over to the second row, and the major highlight is a seatback that can electrically recline up to 135 degrees, providing what MG has termed as a Business class seating experience. As a part of the deal, you also get USB charging ports, rear AC vents, and a centre armrest with cup holders. If you go down the accessories route, MG has also included seatback screens.
Feature list
The Windsor, in this top-spec variant that you can see in our photos, gets features like wireless phone mirroring, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, climate control with rear AC vents, connected car technology, reclining rear seat, panoramic sunroof with voice control in multiple languages, Jio apps and connectivity, TPMS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and a full LED light package.
Powertrain
The MG WIndsor EV is being offered with a 38kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 331km. The electric motor powering the front wheels produces 134bhp/200Nm. You get four drive modes as a part of the deal Eco, Eco+, Normal and Sport.
