- Third EV from MG for India
Bookings for the recently launched MG Windsor EV opened on October 3 and within 24 hours the automaker managed to get bookings for 15,176 units. The Windsor is MG’s third EV for India and is their first in the compact SUV category sitting between the Comet and ZS EV.
It is being offered in three variants with powertrain and battery pack options. We have driven the car and you can check out our review below. It is available four colour options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green. One of the major highlights of the Windsor is a BaaS (battery as service) where you pay Rs. 3.5 per kilometre as rental of the battery allowing for a lower acquisition cost for the vehicle as a whole.
Commenting on the achievement, Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, 'We are grateful to our customers who have embraced the MG Windsor wholeheartedly and enabled it to reach the milestone of 15,176 bookings in just one day. This achievement solidifies MG Windsor's position as a progressive force in India's electric vehicle market. As the first EV to reach this benchmark, the MG Windsor’s popularity underscores the increasing demand for sustainable, cost-effective, and rider-friendly transportation choices among Indian car buyers. We are delighted to contribute to this evolution, and remain committed to delivering innovative, intelligent, and eco-friendly mobility solutions.”
