- Launch on 11 September
- BYD e6 MPV competitor
The new MG Windsor EV will be launched in India on 11 September, 2024. MG Motor JSW India will then announce the prices of the upcoming car. Here's all we can expect from this brand's third electric offering in the Indian market.
Exterior
The Windsor is a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV available globally. The carmaker has released a few teasers hinting at the exterior design and the features of the car. Appearance-wise, it has the shape of an MPV, and design highlights include features such as a vertically stacked headlamp cluster with projector headlamps, wide LED light bars at the front and rear, and a charging port on the left front fender. It rides on nice chunky alloy wheels, gets an integrated spoiler, and boasts flush-fitting door handles.
Interior
MG is calling the Windsor a new CUV that will feature loads of space inside. It will come equipped with a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, black upholstery, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. The USP will be the rear seats (dubbed aero-lounge seats) with a 135-degree recline function and the largest 15.6-inch touch screen infotainment system.
Powertrain
Globally, the MG Windsor EV is powered by a single electric motor offered with two different battery packs. A 50.6kWh unit returns a claimed range of 460km and the other is a 37.9kWh unit with a claimed range of 360km on a single full charge. MG hasn't specified which of these will be launched in India.
Launch timeline and competition
MG plans to launch the Windsor EV in India on 11 September. Once launched, it will compete against the BYD e6, which is also a fully electric car with a similar body style.
