- Is the third EV in the brand’s portfolio
- Is based on the Wuling Cloud EV
MG Motor India is all set to reveal the Windsor EV along with its prices tomorrow, 11 September. This new all-electric vehicle is based on the Wuling Cloud EV sold in China. With this, MG India’s EV portfolio will be three models strong including the ZS EV, Comet EV, and the Windsor EV.
The Windsor EV will have a rather unconventional design with the tag ‘CUV’ attached to it. A full-width light bar at the front and rear, chunky 18-inch alloy wheels, vertically stacked headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, and a massive raked windscreen with a short bonnet are some of the exterior highlights.
Feature-wise, the Windsor EV will come loaded with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, 360-degree surround camera, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and airline-themed rear seats with recline function. There are rumours of the EV not having the ADAS, which will come to light tomorrow at the launch.
The automaker has been tight-lipped about any information regarding the battery pack, range, and specifications. Internationally, the Wuling Cloud EV is available with two battery pack options – a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh unit with a maximum driving range of up to 460km on a single charge. We estimate the India-spec version to get a battery pack that can juice up the EV for approximately 400km in one go.
