- Highest-selling MG model in November
- Battery rental programme is popular among buyers
JSW MG Motor India clutched the EV business in its favour with the launch of the Windsor EV in September this year. This premium electric hatchback/crossover is possibly the most influential launch by the automaker since its arrival in India. With its unique battery rental service and competitive outright pricing, the Windsor EV has gained significant interest and sales over the past few months.
The automaker registered a total sale of over 3,100 Windsor EV units in November. The all-electric model outsold all the MG cars last month by a huge margin. For reference, the next highest-selling MG in November was Hector, with 1,106 units sold. Furthermore, the MG Windsor EV outperforms the Mahindra XUV400, Citroen eC3, and the MG ZS EV in November sales.
Customers can buy the MG Windsor EV across three variants with prices ranging from Rs. 13.50 lakh to Rs. 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom+battery cost). That said, customers can also opt for the BAAS (Battery as a Service) scheme, wherein the upfront cost for the entry-level variant is reduced to just Rs. 10 lakh with battery rental costing Rs. 3.5 per km.
The MG Windsor EV has proved to be successful in the market for offering a premium interior with plenty of features, spacious and practical cabin, on-par performance and range, and a value-for-money proposition.
