-Â Â The Hector will be the first car from MG Motor in India.
-Â Â To be launched in India in June.

After a long wait and endless spy shots appearances, MG Motor will officially unveil the Hector in flesh for the first time on 15 May. The SUV will go on sale in the country in June and will compete against the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson.Â
The Hector was previewed by the Baojun 530 and we have already seen it in pictures. The sleek LED headlamps of the Hector flanks the chrome-laden grille. The fascia has a brushed-aluminium faux skid plate on the front and rear bumper. The vehicle will also get a set of diamond cut alloy wheels. The rear gets a distinctive set of LED tail lamps as well.Â
But the most striking feature of the Hector is the large 10.4-inch vertically mounted infotainment system. This system will come with a host of connectivity features and the carmaker has partnered with SAP, Cisco and Microsoft to provide cloud-based services like real-time traffic with navigation, along with car health status and diagnosis. The custom operating system will receive over the air (OTA) updates, e-call emergency response and the iSmart mobile application as well. It will also come with pre-loaded applications like AccuWeather for weather forecast and Gaana.com for music streaming. Apart from that, there will be features like premium upholstery, a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, and start-stop button, to name a few. Under the hood of the Hector will be 1.5-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine option.Â
MG Motor India will initially start with 50 dealerships and 120 touchpoints in India. The carmaker has also collaborated with YES bank to provide special financial offers for the Hector SUV. The production for the Hector has already commenced at the SAIC Halol based plant in Gujarat. The prices for the MG Hector is expected to be around Rs 18-21 lakhs.
