The MG Hector will be launched in the Indian car market in June of this year. Bookings for the SUV will begin in mid-May with the launch and deliveries taking in place in the first week of June. The Hector will be offered with a mild-hybrid 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 15 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs.
CarWale has also learned that there will be no 4X4 option and that both the petrol and diesel variants will be offered with a six-speed manual. However, the petrol will also get a six-speed manual as well as a six-speed DCT. Additionally, the petrol will be a 48V mild-hybrid system providing as much as 20Nm of additional torque.
The Hector is the first car from Morris Garages (MG), a Chinese owned British manufacturer. It’s a premium SUV that will take on the likes of the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and the Tata Hexa.Â
