The seven-seater variant of the Wuling Almaz, also known as MG Hector in India, has been launched in Indonesia. The mid-size SUV gets a third row of seats and the WIND (Wuling Indonesian Command) connectivity feature, which is similar to the iSmart system on the MG Hector. It is priced between IDR 263.80 million (Rs 13 lakhs) to IDR 338.80 million (Rs 16.72 lakhs).
The seven-seat Wuling Almaz features a redesigned rear bumper and a chrome muffler tip. Unlike the MG Hector, which gets petrol as well as diesel engines, the Wuling Almaz is available with a sole 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT.
MG Motor India is also working on a seven-seat variant of the Hector, which is set to launch closer to the BS-VI emissions deadline. It will be similar to the Wuling Almaz and the Baojun 530. Interestingly, the seven-seat version will be similar, in dimensions, to the five-seat model.
In India, the MG Hector seven-seat variant will compete against the likes of Tata Buzzard (name unconfirmed) and the Mahindra XUV500.
