MG (Morris Garages) Motor India announced the commencement of bookings for its feature loaded SUV, the Hector, on 4 June. Interested customers can book the Hector SUV across 120 centers in the country or visit mgmotor.co.in for online bookings, 12PM onwards on 4 June. By September, the company plans to expand and reach a total of 250 centres in the country. MG Motor will soon begin dispatches of the Hector from its Halol plant across its dealer network in 50 cities in India.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, “MG Hector has been developed with a high degree of localized content to cater to the specific needs of new-age Indian consumers. As India’s first internet car with 50+ connected features, the Hector will come with 19 exclusive product features, making it the new benchmark in its segment. Customers will be able to experience the Hector first-hand very soon and we are ready to welcome new customers into the world of MG.”
Mechanically, the upcoming MG Hector will be available in three guises – 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol hybrid and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol version generates 141bhp at 5000rpm, while the diesel version produces 167bhp at 3750rpm. Six-speed manual transmission is standard, while DCT is optional only on the regular petrol variant. At the time of launch, MG Hector will be the first internet car in the country to offer more than 50 connected features.
