MG Gloster ADAS
MG is bringing a storm to the full-sized SUV segment in the form of the Gloster. With immense road presence, luxurious space for seven adults, powerful diesel engine and an unmatched off-road ability, the Gloster is sure to give the competition some serious headache and the buyers a great choice to go for. One of the many features which make the MG Gloster unique is its ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) safety suite. Let’s look at it in detail.
What is the ADAS?
The Advanced Driver Assistance System is a set of active safety equipment which prevent, avoid and reduce chances of an accident, making the Gloster one of the safest SUVs to be in or around. The features in the system include Adaptive Cruise Control and Hands-free Automatic Parking - making the Gloster the first premium SUV in the country to feature Level-1 autonomous driving technology.
Adaptive Cruise Control - Convenience, enhanced
Cruise control is a boon for those who love long journeys. It reduces stress by removing the need to keep modulating the accelerator to keep going at a constant speed. But slow moving traffic often makes the system redundant, as you are forced to brake, disengage the system, wait for them to move or overtake them and then re-engage the system. The Gloster’s adaptive cruise control system uses radars and cameras to monitor traffic up ahead, keep a safe distance from any traffic it encounters (the distance can be changed on the fly), brake and slow down on its own and return to the set cruise speed after the traffic has moved away.
Hands-free Automatic Parking - Like magic
Don’t be daunted by the size of the MG Gloster while parking for it can park itself! Be it parallel parking or perpendicular parking, the MG Gloster’s set of sensors and cameras can identify a suitable parking space and steer into the said space on its own - the driver only has to follow the instructions on the large colour information display.
