-Design is based on the MG ZS but with electric powertrain
- Will initially be a CBU
-Proposed range of 350km
Last year, we had told you that as a part of its plans, MG would launch the Hector SUV and this would be followed by an electric vehicle in 2020. Well, now we know that the EV will be the eZS SUV. This vehicle is designed to look and feel like the ZS SUV but with an electric powertrain.
The eZS was showcased at the Guangzhou Motor show last year and subsequently, the carmaker put out the image displayed below with a ‘namaste’ as a hint that the car will be coming to India. We have spoken in detail about the eZS already and you can read about that here. The eZS will start life in India as a CBU and depending on demand, we expect that MG will locally assemble the vehicle at its new plant in Halol, probably a year after it is launched.
MG is coming to India later this year with the Hector SUV. It will be positioned as a rival to the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson with a launch expected to happen in H2 of this year. The car will be retailed from 100 dealerships across the country including a flagship showroom that the automaker is setting up in Gurgaon.
