-First vehicle from Chinese owned British manufacturer
-1.5-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel
-Official launch in June
MG has begun production of its SUV, Hector, at its newly opened Halol plant in Gujrat ahead of its unveil on 15 May and launch in June. The video showcases the Hector going through various stages of production as well as testing before being signed off as a completed product.
It’s the first vehicle from Morris Garages (MG) and will be offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and 2.0-litre diesel. One of the major highlights for the Hector will, of course, be its massive 10.4-inch touchscreen system that gets internet connectivity and a host of connected features most of which will be first-in-segment. We have looked in detail at the MG Hector as well as its iSMART connected technology and you can read about that here and here.
The MG Hector will be priced in the range of Rs 18 lakhs to Rs 23 lakhs and will take on the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and the higher spec models of the Tata Harrier. It also rivals the Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Hexa. Â
