- To debut in Spain as the ZS Hybrid+
- Could come to India in 2025
A major update for the MG Astor/ZS crossover will be unveiled tomorrow. This is the most major update for the SUV since its global debut in 2018 and it is expected to come to India in 2025. The lone teaser released by MG Spain shows the new face, wheels and design of the tail lamps. All of these elements have been added to the car, and the silhouette has been slightly altered compared to the current model.
There are no details of the interiors but we know that it will mimic much of what the slightly larger HS SUV has to offer. As for the feature list, the top-spec model of the current car is already pretty loaded up with things like climate control, level-2 ADAS, dual digital screens, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat and an LED light package.
This new Astor/ZS will debut a hybrid powertrain, the details of which are still under wraps. However, for the Indian market, we expect the car to continue with the 1.3 turbo petrol and 1.5 NA petrol. Both engines can be had with AT and MT options. Astor is MG's competitor in India to vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and now even the Tata Curvv.
