Mercedes-Maybach’s all-new concept set for its debut at Beijing later this month has been leaked. While Mercedes hasn’t provided any details with the images, the concept has been revealed in all its glory.
The GLS-based Mercedes-Maybach SUV was being talked about for a long time and looks like it is finally happening. Only it's not like how we had imagined it to be. Because the concept outlines a sedan on stilts. It gets a proper square hood, a two-cab passenger compartment and a sedan-like boot.
The Vision 6 Concept-like vertically slatted grille and the slim LED headlamps are typical Maybach while the large alloys and the squared wheel arches give it the much required SUV stance. On the inside, the white interior with the rose-gold embellishments has a coffee table inside with flowers laid out behind the passenger hand-rest in the back.
We still aren’t sure if it is going to get the traditional V8 or V12 or the new EQ electric mills but whatever powers this will be a potent powertrain. Also, we aren’t sure if we like the ‘sedan on stilts’ design. But, it is the age where carmakers are exploring different avenues. And given the large number of takers for the coupe-SUVs and convertible-SUVs, we are sure that the Maybach sedan-SUV will find its niche.
