The much awaited Mercedes-Benz V-Class has been launched in India for a price of Rs 68.40 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). There’s two variants- Expression ( extra-long wheelbase) and Exclusive (wheelbase) as well as four colour options. The current generation V-Class MPV has been on sale in the international markets since 2014, however, it debuts on the Indian soil for the very first time. The luxury MPV has been introduced in the Indian market as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
The newly launched V-Class gets a traditional family face complete with a typical Mercedes grille and sweptback headlamps on either side. The rear gets a modest styling complete with the LED tail-lamps and a large rear windshield. Known for luxury, the V-Class is offered with opulent upholstery and is available with multiple seating configurations with sliding doors at the rear. The premium finish dashboard features a centrally mounted touch screen infotainment system which is flanked by circular AC vents. The MPV gets a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a twin-dial instrument cluster.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. Mated to a seven speed automatic transmission, it generates 160bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both versions of the V-Class are being offered with a Star Ease Maintenance Package that start at Rs 1.48 lakhs and for a period of two years or 30,000km.
