German car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz will launch the G 350d in India on 16 October. The upcoming SUV will be a more affordable version of the sportier AMG G63. The new variant will be an entry-level G-Class model and it will be powered by a diesel engine.
Visually, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz G 350d will get a simpler grille and subtle wheel arches as compared to the G 63. Moreover, the new model will also miss out on AMG-spec 21-inch alloy wheels. As for the interior, the SUV will not get the AMG detailing, however, it will offer Artico leather upholstery, quilted stitching, and open-pore wood. The vehicle will get the widescreen cockpit with two screens – infotainment system and the other for instruments.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Benz G 350d will be powered by an OM 656 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine, which produces 284bhp of power and 600Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a nine-speed automatic torque converter. It is believed that the SUV is capable of attaining a top speed of 199kmph and sprints from 0-100kmph in about 7.4 seconds.
Although the pricing for the G 350d will be announced at the time of its launch, we expect it to be priced under Rs 1.5 crores. More details about the vehicle will be revealed post its official launch.
