Mercedes-Benz has begun its electric onslaught as well and after the EQ C SUV and the EQ A hatchback, it is the EQ B test mule that has begun testing. Like the existing A and B-Class hatchbacks, the EQ A is sportier while the EQ B, from the looks of it, will be all about practicality and space.
Now, it is also being said that this EQ B would get the styling bits from the GLB and might take form as a crossover mini-SUV, but looking at the pictures, we certainly doubt that. The mule looks like a perfect tall-boy hatchback like the B-Class is right now and yes, the fascia might get the GLB-inspired styling to make sure it is quite different from the A-Class.
While dimensions and interior space are unknown, it is being said that the EQ B will be offered with a 60kWh powertrain at the entry level, going all the way up to 110kWh. Powered by a 150kW motor, the EQ B is touted to be able to run about 400km in a single charge with the 60kWh package.
The EQ B is expected to be introduced after the EQ A, which leads us to a 2021 timeline. And right now, it is actually just over a couple of years away.
