Test mules of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz C-Class have been being spotted internationally for quite some time and now the launch is around the corner. Internationally, as per Daimler’s annual plan, the new C-Class is scheduled to debut in July. And like always, the India debut of the C-Class should happen within a few months, slating it for Q4 2018.
The new C-Class, as we said before, is a facelift and is based on the W205 platform that made its global debut in 2014. The new C-Class gets a fresh fascia with the LED signature which will not look like the one on the S-Class. The bumpers will look a tad more aggressive and since the profile is going to be the same, it will also get a new set of alloy wheels.
On the inside, subtle changes have been made to the cabin with an upgraded infotainment system and a tweaked dashboard.
You will also get the twin-screen dashboard option with higher trims along with all the bells and whistles like a panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps, auto-dimming rear view mirrors et al.
Under the hood, the new C-Class might get the latest 48V electric platform with the mild-hybrid tech and it will be powered by the new set of 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. It will also be offered with the straight-sixes for the higher-spec AMGs.
The C-Class will debut with its entire line-up including the sedan, the coupe and the cabriolet and also the estate or the shooting brake as they like to call it. Sadly, only the sedan will come to India and the cabriolet might follow it later but with the E-wagon slated for the subcontinent, we would also like to see the C-Wagon gracing our roads.
