- Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift India launch slated for 20 September
- To get new petrol and diesel engine options
- Expected to get 9G-Tronic automatic transmission as a replacement to the older 7G-Tronic unit
Post much wait, Mercedes-Benz has announced its plans to launch the C-Class facelift in India on 20 September. The latest version of the popular model was last showcased at the Geneva motor show. The new model will be offered with a fresh set of cosmetic, feature and mechanical upgrades. The facelift model is based on the W205 platform which was globally introduced in 2014.
Speaking of fresh upgrades, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets a fresh set of LED headlights and new taillamps with a new LED pattern. The vehicle also gets redesigned bumpers and a fresh set of alloy wheels. The higher trims are expected to be offered with features such as a panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps, auto-dimming rearview mirrors and more. As for the interior, the new model will get premium upholstery and newly-designed steering wheel, along with premium features such as 12.3-inch digital instrument console and a 10.25-inch high-resolution screen for the COMAND infotainment system.
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz Class facelift is expected to be powered by a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that replaces the older 2.0-litre engine. The new engine continues to generate similar power output figure as the older one except for a mild drop in torque figures. The diesel version gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine in two states of tune. Both the diesel engines will be BS-VI compliant. Moreover, the new engines in the C-Class facelift will come mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission which replaces the older 7G-Tronic unit.
