- EQC SUV might get a hotter AMG version after its launch in 2020
- Will get more powerful motors
Mercedes-Benz recently took the wraps off its all electric EQC electric SUV which is the first electric product under the new EQ brand. However, while this is great news for the tree huggers, the Mercedes-AMG division wanted to do something for the enthusiasts too. According to reports, once the EQC is launched in 2020, a madder AMG badged version will follow it up.
Now the standard EQC specs are pretty impressive. Two motors on each axle give a combined output of over 400bhp and an insane 765 Nm or turning force which propels the car to 100kmph in just 5.1 seconds. The AMG version should be quicker and not to mention more fun to drive as well.
The AMG version is expected to debut at least a year after the standard car is launched and we expect more cars to give it company like the EQA hatchback and the EQS sedan. The current electric crossover scene has the Tesla Model X and the Jaguar I-Pace and will be followed by the Audi E-Tron in 2019. An electric future might not seem so bad after all.
