- The S63 AMG is the performance Coupe from Affalterbach.
- It is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 612hp and 900Nm of torque.
- It will rival the likes of Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso and Maserati GranTurismo.
Mercedes-Benz will launch the S63 AMG Coupe in India on 18 June. The updated S63 AMG Coupe follows the E63 AMG in the Indian market.
Powering the S63 AMG Coupe is a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 punching out 612hp of power and a colossal 900Nm of twisting force. The power is sent to the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system via the AMG-spec Speedshift MCT nine-speed sports transmission. The Coupe can reach 100kmph from standstill in just 3.5 seconds and go upto an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph (300kmph with the optional AMG Driver's Package).
The updated S63 gets a new headlamp design along with the characteristic Panamericana grille. It sits on AMG-forged light-alloy wheels wrapped in 285/40 R19 section tyres. At the rear, the sleek tail lights get multiple LED lighting signature. The quad-exhaust pipes of the AMG performance exhaust system are neatly integrated into aggressive diffusers. The cabin is every bit as opulent as one may expect from a flagship grand tourer tuned by a performance division. This includes an AMG steering wheel, luxurious Nappa leather upholstery, massive 12.3-inch widescreen infotainment system¬¬ on the dashboard and all the other exotic materials inside the cabin.
The connoisseurs who can afford the S63 Coupe could also look at other options such as Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso and Maserati GranTurismo. The price tag is expected to be upwards of Rs 3 crores.
