If you think the AMG versions of the GLE and the SLC aren’t special enough, think again because Mercedes-AMG has just launched two new limited edition versions in India. They are called the GLE 43 OrangeArt and the SLC 43 RedArt and both come with a range of visual upgrades over the standard models.
Starting off with the GLE, this limited edition comes in either white, black or grey colour with 21-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels finished in gloss black and an orange rim flange. You even get orange highlights on the front apron. Inside, the seats are upholstered in black leather with orange inserts and contrasting stitching in grey. Furthermore, the floor mats come with AMG lettering and piping in orange.
The SLC 43 RedArt, on the other hand, can be had in white or a special grey paint. In terms of upgrades, the front and rear apron is finished in red. In keeping with the theme, Mercedes has added red flics on the bumper and red fins on the wings. The convertible model also gets red brake callipers with AMG lettering. Inside the cabin, the seats are finished in black with silver leather inserts. Furthermore, you get red contrasting stitching and head restraints with carbon fibre effect.
Both the GLE 43 and the SLC 43 AMG are powered by the same 3-litre bi-turbo V6 motor. The 2996cc engine, in fact, makes 390bhp in the GLE and 367bhp in the SLC. Both these special editions produce similar torque, at 520Nm.
Limited to a total of 25 units, the GLE 43 OrangeArt is priced at Rs 1.02 crore onwards and the SLC 43 RedArt edition is priced at Rs 87.48 lakhs onwards. Both the prices are ex-showroom India.
