The Black series, at one time, signified the most outrageous avatar of their weaponry called cars. And the badge is making a comeback after almost half a decade and might adorn the AMG GT R coupe. Which means the GT R will get even more carbon fibre to lose weight, even more horsepower from the 4.0-litre V8 and an even stiffer ride. But who cares as long as it scares the living hell out when you attack a corner at full clip.
Mercedes-AMG could not hide the downforce generating strokes or the little winglets on the bumper corners in spite of being camouflaged all around. The larger diffuser in the back could also not be hidden. The red-hot brakes in the spy shots indicate carbon ceramics, no less, and it might get bespoke wheels as well. Like we said before, the suspension will be tuned for the lighter weight and the added horsepower which we think would get as close to 650bhp as possible.
It is being said that it will only come by 2020. But if you want one, make a beeline for the nearest AMG dealership because it certainly will be a limited-run car and an exclusive one at that.
